Finance Business Partner (Ref REQ-200166)

Job Description

We are looking for a Finance Business Partner to join our Finance Team.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Support the profit and loss up to gross margin level by providing accurate analysis that provide insight and aid decision making.  This will include managing income recognition as well as supporting project / contract management with project accounting philosophies.
  • Develop processes to ensure financial and commercial control at all stages of projects (from bid to completion).
  • Develop reporting and forecasting using Adaptive Insights software.
  • Identify areas for process improvement and using robotic process technology to eliminate repetitive tasks.
  • Work closely with Cost Centre Managers to analyse and complete month end reporting, budgeting and forecasting activities, providing effective challenge and support for their functions whilst remaining independent.
  • Month end reporting duties, including balance sheet reconciliations, variance analysis.
  • Approval of purchase orders in SAP.
  • Work with stakeholders to develop process, policy and system improvements that improve the functioning of the department and are compliant with Daimler requirements. 

Candidate Profile:

  • The ideal candidate will be educated to a degree level and CIMA / ACCA qualified plus experience post-qualification.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Experience of SAP or a similar accounting system.
  • Experience of Adaptive Insights is desirable but not essential.
  • Experience of working in a fast-moving environment.
  • Experience of working in an Engineering / manufacturing environment or 'project-based' business.

Converged Infrastructure Specialist (Ref REQ-200187)

Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Converged Infrastructure Specialist to join the IT team at a time of significant and exciting change.

The Converged Infrastructure Specialist is a senior technical hands-on role that will be responsible for the build, test and implementation of all aspects of compute, SAN storage and network converged infrastructure, ensuring high standards of build, security, repeatability and delivery against business requirements.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Manage the build and deployment of all aspects of converged infrastructure including management of the build and delivery systems/processes with reference to industry best practice, developing internal standards.
  • Perform technical-lead role on high profile projects, engaging across IT and senior business management.
  • Be the final point of internal technical support and be an escalation point for 2nd line support.
  • Proactively look to improve efficiency and effectiveness of current standard operating processes.
  • Implementation of automated deployment processes and utilisation of internal and cloud-based services.
  • Work with architects and contribute to solution design, responsible for low-level technical design.
  • Ensure that security is baked-in at design and then monitored and maintained in production.
  • Ensuring all solutions are documented and successfully transitioned into production.
  • Contribute to IT team development via knowledge creation and sharing.
  • Environment reporting to lead tactical and strategic review.

Technical Skills:

  • Knowledge of the latest versions of Windows Server OS (MCSE Core Infrastructure level).
  • VMWare (to VCAP/VCIX level) administration via vRealize Operations manager and Citrix (to CC-AV level).
  • Experience with x86 server blade and rack-dense converged infrastructure including Cisco and HP.
  • Active Directory, DHCP, DNS, IP and networking e.g. OSI layers 1-7.
  • Enterprise SAN iSCSI storage (e.g. PURE, NetApp, Brocade, QLogic and HPE) highly available metro cluster.
  • System management applications (e.g. vRealize, HP OneView HP SIM, SCOM, SCCM).
  • Scripting PowerShell/Ansible and an understanding and automation.

Candidate Profile:

  • Demonstrable experience working in a comparable role in a demanding enterprise environment.
  • Ability to demonstrate and develop a collaborative team approach, building rapport with technical, management and business stakeholders providing consultation and expert advice.
  • A practical individual who is also comfortable strategising and dividing their time between project work, support and maintenance, leading reviews with various stakeholders.
  • Experience of working in a fast-paced environment with continual demands and changing priorities.
  • Strong, confident, self-motivated, and willing to take ownership and accountability for the current and future core technology stack in operation.
  • Used to working and adhering to the ITIL Framework for Service Design, Transition and Operation.
  • Demonstrable documentation skills including HLD, LLD, user training and technical how to documents.

Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a 12 month Fixed-Term Business Partner Manager to join our Finance Team, reporting to the Deputy Chief Financial Officer. This position is responsible for managing and leading the team, ensuring high standards, accurate forecasting and reporting and delivery of deadlines to internal an external stakeholders.

 

Key Accountabilities:

  • Lead the Finance Business Partner team in providing a valued service to the business

  • Monthly management reporting
  • Capex project appraisals and weekly reporting
  • Race car spend analysis and car development project analysis
  • Managing rolling forecast and budgeting processes
  • Support ERP improvement initiatives
  • Finance reviews with budget holders, heads of department
  • Approving Purchase Order commitment expenditure above certain spend threshold
  • Manage a team of 4 direct reports, including holding regular team meetings as well as input into end of year performance reviews
