Job Description

We are looking for a self-starter with excellent communication skills who thrives in a fast-paced, changeable environment.

Key responsibilities:

  • Lead the delivery of all internal financial reporting, including monthly Group reporting and annual planning cycle.
  • Lead the delivery of all external financial reporting including year-end statutory accounts and audit. 
  • Opportunity to implement new processes and efficiencies within the financial reporting area, including a new internal controls testing process.
  • Manage the fixed asset reporting requirements for the Team including working with key internal stakeholders on capital projects.
  • Maximise the use of technology to increase efficiencies within the financial reporting area.
  • Act as number 2 for the Financial Controller when required.

Candidate profile:

The ideal candidate will be ACA / ACCA qualified. Experience in using SAP and Concur is preferable but not essential. The ideal candidate will have good technical experience of FRS 102 and IFRS and solid experience of internal controls testing and design.

We have an opening for a Senior Aerodynamicist in one of our development groups.

Key accountabilities / duties include:

You will work collaboratively as part of a small team, applying your thoughtful and curious nature to a range of stimulating challenges.  By building understanding and interpreting trends, you will help create novel engineering solutions to aerodynamic problems. 

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading performance projects, developing aerodynamic concepts
  • Mentoring and developing other engineers, sharing knowledge and specialist skills
  • Interpreting trends, for example from our state-of-the-art CFD and wind tunnel facilities
  • Improving our understanding of flow structures
  • Collaborating to create innovative solutions

Job Description

Based within the Control Systems Department you will be responsible for the specification, development, integration and maintenance of a wide range of infrastructures, systems and tools.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ground-up control system design based on high-level specification.
  • Project technical management with empowerment to request assignment of tasks within the Control System Group.
  • Proactively develop cross-group collaborations in pursuit of common work methods and frameworks internally and with external technical partners.
  • Proactively contribute to hardware specifications and design cycles of new and existing systems developed across engineering groups and technical partners.
  • Specify and create models of physical systems to integrate into new and existing platforms.
  • Specify, design and simulate control systems for new and existing platforms.

Supporting Responsibilities:

  • Embedded code development and testing (off- and on-car).
  • Simulation and parameterisation tool development within company-defined frameworks.
  • Simulation tool use to improve performance or reliability (off- and on-car).
  • Support of company-wide, control-related deployed capability.
  • Data analysis of control systems.
  • Feedback / fault resolution relating to the key responsibilities.
  • The role may require some international travel.

Candidate Profile:

  • A strong mathematically based degree.
  • Specialisations in areas of simulation, real-time embedded systems, electronics.

A vacancy has arisen for a Travel Coordinator reporting to the Team Travel manager.

Job Description

The successful candidate will be responsible for the cost-effective provision and administration of travel and accommodation, predominantly for Mercedes F1, with support to Mercedes FE.

Key Accountabilities (Duties)

Co-ordinate the management of events and adhoc including but not limited to:

  • Identify and communicate the best travel options (timing / cost) whilst adhering to policies and procedures
  • Production and publication of the travel itinerary (including preparation of the itinerary document, welcome letter and Travel packs with E-Tickets).
  • Hotel bookings
  • Booking of ground transfers both in the UK and overseas.
  • Maybe required to travel although will be limited
  • Work with Daimler to organise the allocation and use of Daimler supplied vehicle.
  • Completion of the flight manifest including input of passenger details and submission to airlines
  • Check, reconcile and complete the administrative process for all invoices.
  • Ensure all team members have the relevant Visa and vaccinations requirements.
  • Safeguard that all travel is organised in line with the Travel Policy.
  • Certify that all travel bookings are made in accordance with the Purchasing Policy.

As and when requested, assist and provide support to the Travel Manager and the rest of the travel team including:

  • Maintain and provide records and other information to facilitate the smooth operation of the travel department.
  • Help other travel coordinators with coordination of their events

When procuring travel related services (flights, hotels, etc) ensure that the best procurement practice is followed to ensure that the best commercial terms and rates are achieved.

Candidate Profile:

  • Experience of GDS
  • Experience of travel administration in a fast-moving environment

The purpose of this role is to work within HR and alongside technical project managers to support the design and delivery of the Team's transformation and change projects from the human perspective, to ensure fast, seamless deployment and maximum employee engagement. Senior Hydraulics Technician (Ref REQ-190229)

Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Hydraulics Technician to join the team on a fixed term basis reporting into the Director of Applied Sciences. As part of the Systems Group based out of Portsmouth, UK your role will be the installation, development, and day-to-day running of all hydraulic boat systems and test rigs.  

Responsibilities to include (but not limited to) the following:

  • Installing, testing and maintaining of all hydraulic equipment
  • Build, testing and maintaining of Hydraulic Test Rigs
  • Assembly integration with drive train and Pumps
  • Component assembly, testing and maintaining
  • Procurement, lifting and maintenance tracking of hydraulic BOM components
  • Working with the design team on integrating Hydraulic Systems
  • Hydraulic system problem diagnosis and working on solutions
  • America’s Cup World Series support
  • Work within the required high level of quality control parameters
  • Work within and be part of improving hydraulic systems and shop floor health and safety policies
  • Working with wider operational team for launching
  • Design support - assisting the systems engineer and designer in specifying and designing the right systems, and in some cases taking on system design yourself.
  • Specification and procurement - working with our procurement team to specify circuit build spec, procure appropriate parts and ensure that the whole system is delivered on time.
  • Installation, calibration and setup - carry out the assembly and testing on boats and rigs.
  • Maintenance and trouble-shooting - finding and fixing problems, ensuring all issues are understood and addressed in design.
  • Testing and development - running tests on boats and rigs to develop and understand the system - including planning, execution, analysis and reporting.
  • Assisting the wider shore team with boat building, maintenance, and operations during peak times.

Candidate Profile:

We are looking for an experienced, intelligent, professional technician or engineer, with particular attention to the following personal attributes:

  • Intelligent and technically sharp with a good quality HND or degree qualification.
  • Hands-on recent experience in building and maintaining high-performance hydraulic systems and associated mechanical actuators and drives in a relevant field (e.g. F1, automotive, aerospace, defense or marine, etc).
  • Whole-system understanding: including electrical, control, calibration, and mechanical aspects, and associated documentation, schematics, assembly drawings, etc. 
  • Very high standard of care and attention to the quality and cleanliness of your work, and your working environment.
  • Mature and responsible attitude and with the capability of taking on whole projects with minimal supervision.

A flexible approach to working hours and the ability to work well under pressure is central to this role, along with excellent interpersonal and communication skills. While working in this position there will also be a requirement to travel that could see you spending 6 months placed in Auckland, New Zealand.
