We're seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Software Engineer to join our growing agile software development group. You’ll deliver on key projects to continuously develop more comprehensive insights of our car, driving our race performance. 

Partnering with key areas of the business, you’ll enhance existing tools and systems, deliver exciting new projects and manage internal customer experience. Key projects include developing our Driver in the Loop real time simulator, our HPC infrastructure and our data capture and analysis systems. You’ll help to streamline our software development projects and processes and build the capabilities of our team to deliver real value in the business.

What you'll do:

  • Mentor the software development team, building a supportive environment and developing capabilities to ensure the smooth delivery of major technical projects.
  • Be a key point of contact for new software requirements and internal stakeholder management.
  • Enhance existing systems, ensuring sustainable solutions, whilst building the functionality of the future.
  • Streamline our software engineering projects and processes with the team, ensuring seamless customer experiences and advocating best practices.
  • Provide architectural advice and guidance.  
  • Support some of our live race events, ensuring the team can access the right information at the right time to enhance our strategic decision making.

Who you are:

  • Degree in Computer Science (or similar), or relevant experience.
  • Experience working in high performing self-organising teams, delivering solutions to complex problems 
  • Excellent communication skills and experience working with a strong customer focus 
  • Experience using agile development methodologies such as TDD and CI 
  • Significant experience of at least one programming language, ideally C#, and strong knowledge of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP). 
  • Extensive knowledge of the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)  
  • Excellent communication skills and experience managing key stakeholder relationships

Graduate Powertrain Control Engineer (Ref REQ-025)

Job Description

Based within the Control Systems Department you will be responsible for operational aspects of vehicle transmissions at scheduled events.  The role is potentially wide-ranging, but core scope involves pre-event preparation, on-event data analysis and post-event reporting.  The work location will be predominantly in the UK and encompass weekends.

Key Responsibilities/Duties:

  • Develop a deep understanding of transmission functionality at system and component level and as a result, provide effective fault diagnosis.
  • Generate prompt and accurate reports to communicate faults, concerns and potential improvements during events.
  • Support pre-event health check tasks of related transmission components under supervision.
  • Work with additional departments to provide planning and parts logistic management resulting in efficient on-event transmission operation.
  • Develop a skill set that assists other members with Control System-related transmission developments away from scheduled events.

Candidate Profile:

  • A strong engineering-based degree including specialisations such as mechanical, control, electronic engineering or similar.
  • Familiarity of vehicle transmission, hydraulic & electronic systems an advantage but not essential.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Aerodynamics Inspector (12 Months FTC) (Ref REQ-142)

Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity in our Aerodynamic Operations department for a Mechanical Inspector. The successful candidate will be proficient in inspecting and verifying Engineered components.

Key accountabilities / duties include:

  • Use of inspection equipment to ensure dimensional, mechanical and visual characteristics of each component adhere to drawing specification.
  • Strict adherence to drawings, operating procedures and work instructions to ensure zero defect supply to our customers.
  • Proficient in the use of Creaform Metrology system.
  • Travel within the U.K as required by the assignment.
  • Dedicated to INEOS tasks, falling back to MGP tasks if opportunity allows.
  • Competent in using portable CMM (e.g. Faro /Romer Arms) and preferable Polyworks software, both on-line and off-line, Power Inspect an advantage.
  • Timely and accurate booking and recording on our Manufacturing Systems.
  • Identification of any non-conforming components and writing of non-conformance reports (NCR). This includes liaison with authorising Design personnel to determine disposition of components and necessary action to be taken, concluding in a timely manner.
  • Communication to be clear, concise and effective (verbal &/or written as appropriate) for example with NCR follow-up and hand-over of job at shift end / status of component inspection.
  • Flexibility in terms of job and time to undertake any necessary tasks that may reasonably be expected to achieve Departmental and Team objectives.
  • Safe working to within general Safety, Health and Environmental guidelines with specific attention and working to Departmental Risk Assessments and COSHH (Control of Substances Hazardous to Health).

  • Manage relationships with research houses, third party agencies and suppliers to ensure the commercial team have access to latest best-in-class data in the most appropriate and user-friendly format.
  • Build relationships with external stakeholders (e.g. UBS, Refinitiv, Nasdaq, LSE, FT, Private Equity and Venture Capital Investors) as required by the commercial team to improve the quality of our information and get better access to proprietary insight on new companies with significant revenues and marketing and partnership spends that could be future targets as potential partners, prior to them being targeted by our competitors.

Candidate profile

The successful candidate will have a proven competence of analysing companies financially, strategically and operationally, to build a strong understanding of the dynamics affecting specific sectors, the financial strength of the key players within that sector, their associated USPs, marketing and partnership strategies and the markets within which they operate.

You will have experience working in investment banking with a strong track record of analysing a wide range of market segments and company data using multiple, credible sources to provide holistic advice on market positioning/corporate strategy of companies within specific sectors. You will also have a good understanding and experience of the global mining sector.

In addition, you will have a strong academic background with a business, accounting or economics-related degree from a leading University (minimum 2:1 grade).

Dyno Systems Engineer (Ref REQ-033)

We have an exciting opportunity for a Systems Engineer to join our Dyno Team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, configuration and health of on-car electronic systems and data acquisition during dyno test events. 

Key Responsibilities/Duties

  • Preparation of the chassis rack with reference code versions, datasets, calibration & set up according to MAMG requirements.
  • Monitor the performance and health of the chassis and power unit systems on event.
  • Reporting of test issues or failures to the Dyno Test Engineer.
  • Electrical hardware installation, configuration, and maintenance of logging schedule.
  • Live data analysis and development of analysis/post-processing tools.
  • Reporting of faults with responsibility for the resolution of support system related issues.
  • Mileage reporting and processing of dyno operational utilisation metrics.
  • Maintain CAN and Profibus communication networks.
  • Maintain the calibration and validation of dyno test hardware.
  • Develop a working knowledge of dyno control systems.
  • Liaison with electronics / controls to ensure the correct powertrain hardware & software configurations are applied.
  • Maintenance of concise and relevant operational procedures.

Candidate Profile

The applicant will have attained a high performing degree in a relevant field (Electrical, Mechanical, Automotive etc.). 

Experience in a similar role in motorsport is advantageous but not essential.  

Flexibility in hours and approach is required, along with a ‘can do’, ‘team playing’ attitude. Good verbal and written communication skills are very important. The ability to work under minimal supervision to strict deadlines and in a professional manner is essential.

  • Previous experience working with on-car electronic systems, data processing and analysis in a motorsport environment would be advantageous.
  • Familiarity with MES ATLAS and SECU software.
  • Previous experience working hands-on with on-car electrical systems in a motorsport, dyno test or trackside environment is preferable.
  • Working interest in controls system development.
  • Proficiency with Node.js or JavaScript and at least one of Python / C# / Matlab / C++.
  • Strong electrical diagnostic ability; 17th/18th Edition qualification advantageous
  • Good practical and theoretical knowledge of F1 gearbox / hydraulics / engine systems.
  • Highly motivated, able to make decisions within a pressurised environment and have an active interest in technical problem solving.
