Job Description

Based within the Performance Department you will contribute to the car performance by improving computational efficiency of our simulation suite.  You will be responsible for the specification, development, integration and maintenance of a wide range of systems and tools.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop the optimal control algorithm, solver, software design patterns and hardware infrastructure to improve convergence speed and iteration count
  • Support company-wide, control-related deployed capability
  • Apply control system know-how to car performance development

Candidate Profile:

  • Possessing a strong degree with high mathematical and physical system focus
  • A forward thinker with the desire to keep abreast of burgeoning technologies relating to their job role
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • High attention to detail whilst being able to work with limited supervision and to tight deadlines
  • Specialisations in areas of simulation, real-time embedded systems and electronics
  • High level skills in Matlab, Simulink, Stateflow and Embedded Coder
  • Excellent core knowledge of numerical techniques, state-space methods and modern control theory
  • Excellent base coding skills in languages such as C, C++, C#
  • Experience of parallel programming models such as OpenMP, MPI and CUDA, hardware description languages such as Verilog and VHDL and of code optimisation tools such as CVXGEN
  • Experience with dSPACE and Beckhoff (or similar) control systems and of communications protocols such as CAN, FlexRay and EtherCAT advantageous
