Job Description

An exciting vacancy has arisen for a Wind Tunnel Technician reporting to the Wind Tunnel Operations Manager. 

As part of our highly skilled team of wind tunnel technicians, you will be responsible for:

  • Operating the wind tunnel in accordance with an agreed rota of shift system.
  • Execution of model changes for aerodynamic development tests in liaison with the aerodynamicists and model technicians.
  • Assistance with maintenance and improvement of the tunnel systems in conjunction with other staff and outside contractors.
  • Investigating and resolving tunnel issues.
  • Maintaining and updating tunnel operating procedures, manuals and instrumentation records.
  • Generating new ideas for improving the quality and productivity of the facility.
  • Ensuring health and safety procedures are followed at all times.
  • Maintaining high standards of housekeeping.

The ideal candidate will have an engineering qualification and demonstrate a high level of understanding of both mechanical and electronics systems.  This position demands a high level of computer literacy and familiarity with typical instrumentation systems and data analysis tools (Pi toolbox).  Strong practical engineering skills are also required when carrying out changes on the wind tunnel model.    

Flexibility in hours and approach is required along with the ability to work on your own initiative, under high pressure and to strict deadlines.

Job Description

IT Apprentice

We are seeking to employ an IT Apprentice to work within the fast-paced environment of our IT Department. The successful candidate will be part of the highly skilled IT Team and learn to work across the Service Desk, Desktop Support, Infrastructure Support, PC Deployment and Trackside Support functions.

Key Skills to be developed during the Apprenticeship include:

  • Investigating incidents and seeking resolution, analysing problems to determine underlying issues and helping users to recover or continue operation
  • Ensure Service Desk queries are resolved as per Service Level Agreements, updated and communicated to the customer at all times
  • A deep understanding of IT Service Management processes based on the ITIL Framework
  • Routine monitoring and reporting of tasks against Critical Success Factors and Key Performance Indicators, taking defined actions on problems and escalating unforeseen or exceptional circumstances to the IT Management
  • Initiating preventative measures, such as identifying suspect software and other components
  • Ensuring existing problems and known errors in supported systems are understood and managed appropriately
  • Build, schedule and deploy machines to the customers
  • Publish support documentation to assist both customers and the internal team

Job Description

We are looking for a dynamic Apprentice to work within our Paint Department, which is part of the Applied Science division. You will be an integral part of the team which is responsible for the application of all of our company paint and vinyl solutions ranging from our Formula One car, site signage and race trucks. You will also be involved in our external customer programme which is dedicated to providing paint solutions to the highest standards to our external clients.

During the programme you will be fully supported and mentored by industry leading experts who will help you to develop specialist skills and knowledge in an environment that gives you the opportunity to maximise your potential within the fast paced Formula One environment. The duration of the programme will be a minimum of 2 years but the exact duration will depend on the prior experience and qualifications of the successful candidate.

Candidate Profile:

We are looking for a dependable, self-motivated and enthusiastic team player that is passionate about working for our team and has a willingness to learn. You should be capable of working to a high quality while under pressure to meet tight deadlines. Good communication skills are key in addition to being computer literate.  The work is predominantly hands-on so we are looking for someone with excellent manual dexterity and a keen eye for detail. You should have a strong interest in the automotive refinish industry and must be dependable and enthusiastic with a positive work ethic.

Qualifications Required:

  • You must be over 16 years old and have achieved/been predicted a minimum of 5 GCSEs Grade A*- C (or equivalent). These must include Maths, English and Science
  • Demonstrate an interest in the automotive refinish industry through work experience, hobbies, project work etc

Job Description

A new vacancy has arisen for a Graphics Technician reporting to the Graphics Team Leader.

The successful candidate will assist the Graphics department with Manufacture, fitting and wrapping of vinyls for all internal and external customers.​

Key Accountabilities / Duties include:

  • To fit vinyl graphics.
  • To apply full vehicle wraps.
  • To manufacture vinyl graphics.
  • Manufacture and apply paint masks.
  • Visit external customers to fit graphics.​
  • Travel abroad if required.

Candidate Profile:

  • Proven hands on experience of all varieties of vinyl's, graphics and digitally printed media.
  • In depth knowledge on Vinyl installation processes, time-frames and potential issues.
  • Extensive vehicle vinyl wrapping experience.
  • Excellent attention to detail and able to follow a given brief.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Ability to work under own initiative and part of a team.
  • Full driving license.
