Job Description

We have an exciting and challenging opportunity for a Workday HR/IS Functional Analyst to join our HR and IT teams on a fixed term contract to enhance value and drive efficiency improvements in our Workday HCM platform.

Being placed within the HR team but with close alignment to IT, the successful candidate will become the key person for day-to-day support, guidance, implementations, and changes, whilst transferring knowledge and training others to become more proficient and self-sufficient along the way.

This role offers the chance to provide reporting and analysis to key stakeholders, building confidence in the underlying data to enable efficient decision making at all levels, and to bring continuous improvement to the Core HCM and Recruiting processes and configuration.

Key Accountabilities

  • Acting as the primary contact for the HR team, offering support, assistance, analysis, reporting, and functional configuration for the Workday platform.

  • Coordinating bi-weekly governance / steering meetings with key stakeholders to ensure visibility of changes and needs, maintaining priorities and building proactive momentum for future strategic changes.

  • Highlighting and improving data quality as a foundation for confident analysis and insight.

  • Designing, implementing, documenting, and testing changes and improvements to current / previous implementations such as recruiting efficiency enhancements, in line with requests and needs from the HR team.

  • Authoring reports and dashboards that provide analysis and meet the requirements of the HR team, ensuring alignment to consumer needs, including executive report packages.

  • Performing data analysis to provide insight into decision making processes.

  • Gaining deep situational awareness of the needs of the HR team and aligning Workday to fulfil those needs, either passively by working in context, or specifically meeting to gather requirements.

  • Providing guidance and up-skilling to other HR colleagues to help establish self-service reporting, worksheets, and presentations.

  • Reducing the need to perform offline or exports of data for later presentation or manipulation.

  • Challenging existing working methods to bring operational efficiencies and data improvements.

  • Testing of Workday bi-annual feature releases, and presentation of new capabilities to the wider HR and IT teams.

  • Managing partner and vendor activities and support escalations to IT and Workday as appropriate.

  • Keeping up to date with and disseminating new Workday platform capabilities to help steer choices on next steps.

  • Networking with other Workday customers and attending Workday events and seminars to feed into the longer-term strategic roadmap.

Skills and Experience

  • Demonstratable experience working in an enterprise HR/IT environment, including previous HR platform implementation cycles.

  • Significant knowledge of HR processes with particular emphasis on Recruitment process.

  • Workday Professional accreditation or equivalent knowledge of Advanced Reporting, Recruiting, and HCM modules.

  • Experience in Workday HCM and Recruiting configuration and implementation.

  • Experience in Workday Reports including Advanced, Matrix, Trending, and dashboarding.

  • Knowledge of Integration options and capabilities.

  • Experience of working within and configuration of the Workday security, functional, and business process models.

  • Experience as a Workday customer desirable.

  • From a background of HR, with process and data improvement experience.

  • A deep knowledge of the end-to-end recruitment process in HR systems.

  • A track record of data-driven analysis and reporting of HR related activities.

  • Able to translate technical and functional solutions to non-technical teams.

  • Able to adhere to IT change management and HR compliance processes.

  • Willing to raise areas of improvement and not being afraid to try new things to deliver better outcomes.

  • Able to thrive in a fast-paced environment with continual demands and changing priorities and being self-motivated and flexible to adapt and complete them.

  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
